Alderman's Ford Park Trail
Reported: April 2013
This is a nicely shaded, 2-mile paved loop trail at Alderman's Ford Conservation Park (Lithia, FL east of Brandon) along the Alafia River. We discovered it while checking out kayak launches on the River (link below). Off the beaten path and not a long trail, but a scenic stop if you're in the area. (Map link and photos below.)
Location: Hillsborough County
End Points: Alderman's Ford
Regional Park, Lithia, FL. CR 39 north of the intersection with CR 640.
Mileage: 2 mile loop
Surface: Asphalt
Nearby points of interest: Alafia River State Park
The trail loops around the park, along and over the Alafia River, through cypress and oak hammock.
The 1,100 acre park has parking, restrooms, picnicking, camping, hiking trails, boardwalk, and a popular canoe/kayak launch. Visitor Center, small park fee applies. Great place to take the kids!
